This is the mini-version of the Mensa Select Winning game Quoridor.
The aim of the game is for your pawn to reach the opposite side of the board. On a turn you either move your pawn or place a wall. You can stop your opponent with wall placement, but not completely block them off. But remember, they are trying to do the same to you!
